Zion National Park

We spent the weekend up in Utah at Zion National Park with the Frettys. We drove up there early Saturday morning and got checked in to our hotel. We got into Zion by about 12:30 and chose to tackle the Weeping Rock trail first. We hiked for about an hour at a pretty serious incline. We finally came to several patches of ice and thought it was best if we started heading down the mountain.

After having a picnic lunch, we drove up to the Narrows. We walked the trail to where the Narrows begin. The Narrows is a 'trail' that goes up the Virgin River. You literally have to hike in the water to get up the trail.

While the water is WAY to cold right now to hike up the Narrows, we can't wait to go back sometime this summer and give it a shot. After the Narrows, we headed back to the hotel. The girls went swimming for a while while the rest of us enjoyed some sunshine. We went to the Pizza and Noodle for dinner and checked out some of the shops along the main street in Springdale. On Sunday morning, we checked out the river behind the hotel. There was a beautiful tree growing out over the river. It was really unusual how the roots were all twisted and climbing along the bank of the river.

There was a gazeebo behind the hotel - possibly for weddings or something. It was a really beautiful area so we took advantage of it as long as we could. Ciara wasn't feeling well so we started to head home around 11:00. It is such a short, easy ride to Vegas that we will definitely go again!
