We went camping with the Serena's Girl Scout troop over the weekend. We left on Friday night and headed to Terrible's RV Park in Pahrump, Nevada. It is about an hour away so the ride was relatively short. The girls had to earn their small watercraft badge so the Jefferson family is there to support the girls! We arrived at about 8:00 at night and set up camp. The girls had to be on the water at 8:00 the next morning ~ ready for some fun!
The RV park had a small lake in the center of it where the girls would be learning about small watercrafts. They started the day by learning about water rescue. The girls had to practice throughing flotation devices into the water to 'save' their partners. They threw the bouy out into the water and had to drag their partner to safety.
After that the girls got to learn how to ride a kayak. The girls each got their own kayak and were sent out onto the lake to practice with the paddles. The got to practice by paddling all around the lake and learning how to steer and turn. After a short break, the girls had to learn about what to do if their kayak were to tip over. 
The instructors went out onto the lake in canoes. The girls had to jump out of their kayak, climb onto the canoe, jump back out and climb back into their kayaks. They all did a great job and only finished with a few bruises on their arms.

On Sunday all of the older girls had to go back onto the water to practice capsizing their canoes. The younger girls decided to spend some time in the paddle boats and kayaks again. Bill and Ciara took the girls down to the lake to try them out too.
As they were paddling along, they found a little frog swimming in the lake. While trying to scoop it up in Ciara's shoe, the frog jumped back into the water and started swimming away. Within moments, a fish came up and scooped it into its mouth. It must not have like how it tasted because a second later the frog came up to the surface again. Lucky Frog!! 
After scooping it back up in Ciara's shoe, the frog rode around in the paddle boat for a while. I don't think it can live out of the water for that long because shortly after that it dove down into a hole in the paddle boat and disappeared into the bottom of the boat. And . . . that was the end of the frog!
