Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That's why they call it the present.

Babysitting Audrey
Last Sunday we got to babysit for my friend Jen's little girl, Audrey. When we heard of the opportunity, we jumped at the chance. Serena was very excited ~ in fact, she came home from a sleepover early that morning just so she could help. Audrey got to our house about 9:00. Our first dealings were with all of the animals that we have! The dogs were very excited to have this little being in our house that they didn't know what to think. They were so excited that they landed themselves in the kennel! Audrey also was pretty fond of Tarzan, the cat; however, Tarzan wasn't all that fond of her. On to the fish - actually they weren't such a big hit either. I know she doesn't look all that happy in this picture, but REALLY, she had fun while she was here.
Audrey liked all of the pumpkins we had setting out for Halloween. She also like to crawl into the window space next to the fireplace and sit. The tile in there was freezing so I'm not sure what the appeal was!
After playing with that, we decided to go upstairs and check out the toybox. We still have lots of toys from when the girls were younger so Audrey was all up in that toybox. She found a old piano of the girls and liked to push on all of the keys. She like it so much that it became her new toy. I can't remember the last time the girls even opened the toybox. The toy she loved the most was a marble track that my dad made years ago for Ciara. You put marbles at the top of it and they follow a track, winding all the way down to the bottom. She loved to put lots of marbles down at one time. We played with that until she decided to put one in her mouth. That kind of freaked me out so we moved on to other things.
Serena read some Halloween books with her and drew beautiful pictures together! We also took Audrey for a walk around the neighborhood. Serena enjoyed pushing the stroller. That was fun until Audrey tried to crawl out so we started to head back home for lunch. Audrey is a great eater so she sat in her little chair and ate a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and a cup of pineapple. Before long, there was a knock at the door and Jen was back to pick her up. We had fun and can't wait for her to come back!
