Sledding at Lee Canyon

We spent the day sledding up at Lee Canyon with the Fretty family. After hiking for about a mile in snow up to our knees, we arrived at the blessed sledding spot. It was secluded with lots of fresh snow. "Fresh snow" meaning we had to blaze a trail through it in order to have some sort of pathway to walk back up the mountain. David was the brave soul to try it out first. Walking in snow up to your knees is hard enough when you are on a flat surface - try it while climbing up a steep mountainside! We had a few good runs but were exhausted from walking back up each time so I think the record was 3 times down the hill for Ciara. Bill made it WAAAYYYY down the mountain and it took him about a half hour to climb back up. After resting a while, the kids (Bill and the girls) decided to make a snowman. It looked kind of wicked with its eyes and mouth made of bark. The sunglasses added a nice touch, don't you think?? After making our way back to the cars and peeling off the wet socks, we had a nice steaming cup of hot cocoa! Good times with good friends!
