Bill and I got free tickets to go see Barry Manilow last night. Although he wouldn't be our first choice of shows to see, we find ourselves going to rather unusual things when we don't have to pay for the tickets. We also find ourselves being very forgiving when the tickets are free. If we'd paid $100 per ticket, we would have felt ripped off. But free - we can pretend to be Manilow fans! It actually did turn out to be a great show. We recognized all of the songs and he sounded great. We question how many of his songs were taped ahead of time and whether he was doing the little lip sync trick. He moved pretty awkward across the stage, but I've also read lately that he just underwent hip replacement. Considering how old he is, he looks great. He's had an incredible amount of plastic surgery so he's aged well (it's easy with lots of money and a good doctor).If nothing else, it was a night out with my hubbie ~ those days gets fewer apart considering our busy lives. So, although it was Barry Manilow, it was also a date with Bill! :o)
