I have a month's worth of news to catch up on. It's been a long time since I've blogged so first things first . . . Paula and her kids came to visit in the beginning of August. We had such a great time with them. It was Jonathon's birthday when he was here so we wanted to do something fun for him. We went in with Paula to get him a laptop and case for his birthday! He isn't much of a cake person so we ended up making homemade ice cream as his treat.
That night we headed down to the Strip. After living here for 20 years, it was about time for me to visit the 'Welcome to Las Vegas' sign that is south of the Strip. We thought it would be fun to jump while someone took the picture. It was super funny! After that we dropped the kids off at the Adventuredome to go on rides and spend a few hours having fun. We decided to take Paula out to dinner and to a comedy shop. One of the comedians was such a nerd and always made this odd noise as he told his jokes. It became the inside joke between us for the rest of the weekend! Bill could imitate it perfectly!
When we picked the kids up, we went over the the Bellagio to show them the Conservatory and see the water show. The Conservatory had a garden theme happening with different scupltures made of flowers. We also rode the tram over to City Center and Aria.
On Sunday we took the kids to the movies and played the Wii for a while. The kids played Super Mario and Let's Dance for hours! The 'grown ups' even got involved.
Monday was a day for the mountains! We decided to go on a picnic up at Mt. Charleston to get out of the heat for a while. We chose a beautiful spot with a stream flowing through it. We relaxes and spent the afternoon hiking and having lunch together.
We had so much fun with them! Why does time always go so fast???? We can't wait to see them again!
