Virginia Beach - Day 2

We couldn’t check into our resort in Williamsburg until later in the afternoon so we decided to spend the day at the ocean. We headed over to Virginia Beach and found a nice spot to relax and go swimming. We are definitely a beach family and love to swim in the ocean every chance we get. It was pretty hot and humid so the ocean breeze helped cool it down a little. There were many people enjoying the water and sun on this Sunday afternoon!

We started driving toward Williamsburg around 4:00. It was about an hour ride to the east so the girls immediately fell asleep after all of the swimming. Everything is so green in Virginia. The highway is lined with many tall trees on each side. It’s almost like a thick forest. We rode along the bay in certain areas and even went through a bridge that went a mile or two underwater.

When we got to the Williamsburg Plantation, we were very happy with the resort. The entire entrance was lined with tall lilac bushes that were blooming with purple and white flowers. We got checked in and saw our HUGE rooms. We had plenty of space to spread out in our 2000 sq. ft. unit. We have tennis courts, a basketball court, and a beach volleyball court all within a few feet of our front door. The resort also has an indoor pool, an outdoor pool, and a spa for us to enjoy!
Bill and I headed to a grocery store nearby to stock up for the coming week. We love staying at resorts like this so we can save a little money by cooking our own food for some of the meals and having a washer and drier so we don’t have to pack as many clothes.
