Virginia Living Museum - Day 8

We spent the afternoon at the Virginia Living Museum today. It is a cross between a zoo and a museum. We saw all kinds of fish, wildlife, and sea creatures.

We also touched a sea snail, starfish, and a horseshoe crab. I think our favorite was the giant sea turtle. All of the animals at the Living Museum have either been injured, rescued or born in captivity. The sea turtle was missing its front flipper, but was swimming perfectly in its large tank with the other fish. We saw fox, coyote, deer, bobcat, turtles, otters, and beavers.

Bill’s cousin, Sylvia and her son, Adjua, came to visit us on our last night in Virginia. They live in neighboring Richmond and spent a few hours with us. We had fun playing beach volleyball and having dinner together. It had been years since we had seen Sylvia so it was a nice reunion!
